Paper Presentation:

It’s that time of the year to witness the battle of brains. Novelty is a virtue. We, the Paper Presentation team of Paradigm 2k15 invite papers proposing novel and non-trivial ideas and research works in any CSE domain. It provides the authors an outstanding opportunity to unleash the genius in them and as well learn a lot by interacting with the like. Show the world your research! Let them know who’s the next Einstein!!


The rules are as follows:
  1. Only CS domains are encouraged.
  2. Maximum of 3 authors and only student authors allowed. It is not a necessity that all the authors must be from the same institute.
  3. We take plagiarism very seriously. Only original research works are accepted.
  4. The paper must not have been presented or published anywhere else.
  5. The paper must be in two column IEEE format. This format must be strictly adhered to. The paper length must be limited to 6 pages.
  6. The paper must be in .pdf or .doc or .docx formats.
  7. The paper must be sent through mail. The instructions are as follows:
    1. The subject must be the title of the paper.
    2. The body of the mail should include - Name and Institute of participant (starting from the first author and going till the third one), Department and Year, Contact numbers, Email addresses.
    3. Send the paper as an attachment with this mail.

Database Designing

Event description :

This is an event conducted related to DBMS. It consists of 2 rounds.The preliminary round has a written rest where students are tested on their basics of SQL Queries.The final round after shortlisting candidates will be complex query processing techniques like triggers,procedures,joins,nested queries and so on.


Each team can contain a max of 3 members.This is a technical event and requires prior knowledge in languages such as SQL.

Programming and Debugging

Do you consider programming an art? Do you think codes are beautiful? Then this the event is for you code-blooded people.

Programming and debugging is the contest for geeks to show off their grasp on programming and learn more in the process.

Drop in and ‘Grow Strong’ in Algorithms and Data Structures.

Round 1
  • 20 Questions based on C/C++/Java languages to be answered in 15 minutes.
  • In case of a tie, starred questions will be considered.
  • Top 8 teams of this round will qualify for the finals.
Round 2: (Finals)

In this round you have to solve 5 questions (2-Programming, 2-Debugging, 1-Reverse Coding) in 2 hours.
Winners will be decided based on number of correctly solved problems and also efficiency of the code.

Rules:
  1. Each team can have a maximum of three members and minimum of two.
  2. Teams involved in any kind of malpractice will be immediately disqualified.
  3. No contestant can be a member of more than one team.
  4. Decisions made by the judges will be final.

Debugging is anticipated with distaste, performed with reluctance, and bragged about forever.

ROUNDS

Prelims ​ :
  • A set of not-so-technical-not-so-non-technical MCQs to be solved in30minutes.
    Crack as many as you can to get through the prelims.
  • Top 12 teams qualify to the finals.
Finals ​ :

It consists of 3 legend-wait-for-it-dary rounds that test your mettle as a Programmer. As they say, you’ll never know how far you can go unless you ​ Tri ​ . BAZINGA!

First Round ​ - ​ One on One Connexions Face off .
  • Time limit -​ 30​ minutes.
  • 12 teams will be split to 6 groups each containing 2 teams.
  • It will be a ​buzzer round​ between two teams of a group.
  • The team that cracks the most number of correct answers among the group of two will qualify to the second phase of finals.

So, ​ 6​ teams proceed to the next level.

Second Round ​ - ​Code Obfuscation and Reverse Coding.
  • Obfuscated codes will be displayed on the monitor and the teams are required to figure out the code’s logic correctly.
  • Object file (.obj or .class) will be shown and teams need to predict the program’s logic.
  • Selection will be based on the correctness of answers. In case of a tie, speed of completion will be considered

Out of 6 teams,​ 4​ teams enter the final round.

Third Round ​ - ​Core Programming
  • Finalists will be given a set of problems for which they have to produce the code within 30 mins. Feel free to use a programming language of your choice.
  • The top 3 teams will walk away with the cash prizes. Do you dare to​ Tri ​ ? :P

Open Programming

CODE THE BOT

The Game of Bots

Are you a computer geek who is tired of conventional coding competitions? Or are you a person who loves to play games? Are you someone is innovative and creative?

You’ve come to the right place.

Robots have never failed to fascinate people. Here’s the chance to code your own bot. No pre-requisite knowledge on robotics or robot design is needed! With your whole heart, code the bot and win the jackpot !!

General rules:

  1. 1. Each team can consist of a maximum of 3 members.
  2. 2. Each team should have unique participants i.e. no two teams can have even a single participant common.
  3. 3. The team members can be from different institutions.

Event rules

  1. 1st round consists of coding the bot, which will be simulated in a virtual environment (online).
  2. Teams selected for the next round will be coding the real bots to complete a real time task.
  3. Top three teams based on their scores will be finally awarded.
  4. Any teams indulging in malpractices will be disqualified.
  5. The event coordinators reserve the right to make modifications to any of the rules if deemed necessary.
  6. In case of any discrepancies, the organisers' decision will be considered final.

Note: Knowledge of C,C++ is enough!!

  • Keep the interface simple.
  • Use color and texture strategically.
  • The information content must be conveyed quickly and accurately.
  • Be purposeful in page layout. Consider the spatial relationships between items on the page and structure the page based on importance.
  • Make the UI contents detectable by using common elements in your UI so that users feel more comfortable and are able to get things done more quickly.

  4. d. Internet will be provided for first 10 min .
FINALS:
  1. Final round will be UI designing for mobiles .
  2. Pictures, fonts and backgrounds will be provided .
  3. Internet will not be provided for final round .The finals will be for 30 minutes.

Rules

  1. Upto 3 participants in a team.
  2. Preliminary round will resemble a treasure hunt with coding clues or tasks.
  3. Final round will be a hardcore coding showdown.

  1. There will be 5 problems.
  2. 1 point for each problem solved (should pass all test cases).
